Please keep our Content Guidelines in mind before you submit an answer. You'll need to be signed up with Yelp and logged in to your account in order to ask a question.
Yelpers can follow these instructions to ask a question. Please note business owners cannot ask questions, but can answer Yelper questions on their business’s page.

From the full site at www.yelp.com
- Scroll to find the Ask the Community section on the business page
- Find the question you want to answer
- Click the See more answers button, See question or See question details button. You may need to click the See all questions button if the question isn’t listed already
- From the See more answers or See question details button:
- Scroll down and find the text box to add your answer. You may need to scroll down and past existing answers to find the text box.
- Type your answer. If you’d like to stay informed of new answers by email, make sure the Notify me of new answers box is checked
- Click Post Answer
5. From the See all questions button:
- Find the question you want to answer
- Click See question details or See more answers button or the Answer this question link
- Scroll down and find the text box to add your answer. You may need to scroll down and past existing answers to find the text box.
- Type your answer. If you’d like to stay informed of new answers by email, make sure the Notify me of new answers box is checked
- Click Post Answer
You can edit or remove your own answer by locating the question that contains the answer, clicking the 3 dots and clicking Edit answer or Remove answer. Please note you can only edit your answer for a brief period.
You can also read and answer select questions from the right side of the Ask the Community page. Click the Answer button or See answer link to get started.

From an iPhone/iPad
- Scroll to find the Ask the community section of the Yelp page
- Find the question you want to answer
- Tap the Answer button or tap the right arrow next to the question. You may need to tap the more questions button if the question isn’t already listed
- From the Answer button:
- Type your answer
- Tap the Post Answer button at the bottom of the screen or the Post link in the upper right corner
- If you’d like to stay informed of new answers by email, tap the question text and make sure Notify me of new answers is toggled ON
5. From the right arrow button:
- Tap the Answer button or the 3 dots in the upper right corner then Answer Question
- Type your answer and tap the Post Answer button at the bottom of the screen or the Post link in the upper right corner
- If you’d like to stay informed of new answers by email, tap the question text and make sure Notify me of new answers is toggled ON
6. From the more questions button:
- Find the question you want to answer
- Tap Answer. You may need to tap the question first if the Answer button isn’t available
- Type your answer and tap the Post Answer button at the bottom of the screen or the Post link in the upper right corner
- If you’d like to stay informed of new answers by email, tap the question text and make sure Notify me of new answers is toggled ON

Guidelines for Yelpers answering a question on a business page

You can only answer a specific question once, so make it a good one.

You can remove your answer at any time (and post a new one if you desire). Removing your answer also removes any Helpful votes associated with it.

You can edit your answer for a brief period. After this period is over, we ask that you remove your answer and repost it if you’d like to make changes.

If you come across an unhelpful, inflammatory or inappropriate question, we recommend reporting it so our moderators can address the issue.
