How do I enable speech recognition for searching and using the Yelp app?

Enabling speech recognition allows users to use their device’s microphone to search for businesses on Yelp. When using your microphone for the first time to search Yelp, your device will prompt you to Allow access to Microphone and Speech Recognition.

If you choose Don't Allow or if your privacy settings were changed later on, you won't be able to use speech recognition to search on Yelp. You can re-enable this feature by following the steps below.

To manually allow the Yelp app to access your microphone

On an iPhone/iPad:

1. Open Settings and tap Apps

2. Click Yelp in your devices app list
3. Tap the toggles to turn on Microphone and Speech Recognition

Please note the speech recognition for search is not currently available on Android devices.
