Access your personal information
You can access your personal information on Yelp by logging into your account and using Yelp’s data download tool. More information on how to use Yelp’s data download tool is available here. If you are unable to access your data through this tool, please send your request to dataprotection@yelp.com.
Update or correct your personal information
In most cases, you can update or correct your personal information directly through your Yelp account settings. More information about changing your personal information through your account can be found here. If you can’t access your account, or are having difficulty making updates or corrections, please send your request to dataprotection@yelp.com.
Request to delete your personal information
If you would like to remove a particular contribution from Yelp, you can usually do so by using the “remove” icon displayed in connection with your contributions like reviews or photos.
Closing your user account will remove contributions you've posted to Yelp and your public profile. Once your account has been closed it cannot typically be restored. If you'd like to close your user account, please submit an account closure request.
Please note that closing your account only removes certain public-facing information from Yelp. To request deletion of any non-public information in addition to closing your account, please send your request to dataprotection@yelp.com.
Yelp does not sell your personal information
Yelp does not sell your personal information as that term is defined by applicable law and will not do so in the future without providing you with notice and an opportunity to opt-out as required by law. As such, because it is inapplicable to Yelp, we do not currently offer an opt-out of the sale of data.
Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising or sharing data for Targeted Advertising
Yelp may use data collected about your activity on Yelp to serve you ads off of Yelp (“Targeted Advertising”). For example, if you search for a plumber on Yelp, then visit a news website, we may facilitate showing you an ad for a plumber on that site. You can opt-out of Targeted Advertising by taking the steps described here. When you chose to opt out, we won’t share your personal information with our service providers to display advertising off of Yelp. Please note that opting out of Targeted Advertising will not affect the ads you see on Yelp.
Managing your sensitive personal information
Sensitive personal information is a subcategory of personal information as defined by applicable law that includes information like precise geolocation, certain health-related data, and data concerning potentially sensitive subjects like an individual’s sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or religion. Verification of your identity
Yelp will typically ask you to log in to your account in order to verify your identity. If you are unable to log in to your account, Yelp may request that you use alternative methods of verification.
